Nestled among the swaying grass, Sebastian called this blooming haven his home. Unlike other spiders, who spun intricate webs to catch their meals, Sebastian relied on his extraordinary leaping abilities to catch things. He was a brave jumper, always ready to leap from his hiding place, and he used his strong web string as a safety rope to climb back if his jump missed its mark. Sebastian’s heart swelled with joy whenever he leaped. The sensation of soaring through the air and the wind rustling through the tiny hairs on his body brought him an immense thrill. He often challenged himself to jump higher and farther, using his eight strong legs to propel him to greater heights. Narrator: Female Story Begins: 10:07 Snow Fun Excerpt: Dragon stretched and gently placed the colorful quilt down on the soft mossy bed. After a relaxing nap Dragon felt ready to play. Outside huge fluffy flakes danced and twirled their way down to the ground. Dragon watched as the flakes piled up. Dragon didn’t realize how thick the white blanket was until the tips of two rabbit ears appeared above the top of the snow. Ballet Bunny leaped up and then disappeared into the rising fluff. She popped up again and with a great leap landed at the entrance to Dragon’s cave. The graceful bunny shook the snow off her fur and thumped her feet. Dragon hurried over and began creating a path as the little bunny warmed herself in the cozy cave. Dragon swept a clear aisle with strong pushes from Dragon’s tail moving right and left of the cave’s entrance. As Dragon pushed the snow, it compacted together forming walls. Dragon smiled. This snow was just right to make snow creatures! Knowing that the kids liked to make snow people Dragon decided to head to the edge of the forest for some fun. Fully absorbed in the suspense of his book it took a while for James to realize that his parents were acting a bit differently. Julia sat down next to him and asked. “Do you know what’s going on with mom and dad?” James looked up from his book and watched as their mom zipped from the kitchen, wrote a note on the counter, and then went back to the bedroom. Their dad ran into the laundry room and came out with a pair of socks. “I don’t know. They seem like they’re in a hurry.” James said. Then he looked at Julia as they realized together, “They must be going out tonight!” “Oh no!” James added as Julia said, “We must be getting a babysitter.” “I don’t know why. Winfield awoke with a smile, wondering where the fragrance was coming from. He would find out soon. Brian released Winfield’s brake. He and Javier had finished their lunches. As they got ready to leave Javier’s mom mentioned, “Before we head back to the path, this is a sensory garden and you can touch the plants. Just be gentle.” Brian rolled Winfield away from the table and the wheelchair turned towards the path. The boys exchanged delighted smiles. Somewhere in the garden there was a train. Javier and Brian wanted to find that train. The moon and stars encouraged the little fish to leave their coral beds. Curious to see the source of night-time light, Fish One gracefully swam past a sleepy Fish Two. Fish Two joined Fish One. They weaved past each other, back and forth, back and forth. As the fish swam past Fish Three, Fish Three flipped and Fish Four zipped to join the group. Finally, Fish Five twirled around all of them. The five fish giggled and smiled. They were ready to explore the night-time sea! The five little fish swam away from their colorful coral beds. Fish One led the way through a maze of softly swaying sea plants. The five little fish peeked through the gentle leaves, curious to see who or what they would find today. A shadow floated over the five little fish and they looked up. The mysterious shape glided across the water without any flippers. Fish Two decided to get a closer look and zipped up towards the gentle shadow. 736. A Snake with Fur: a calming children’s story

Carlotta Corn Snake thinks she would have better luck finding a forever home if she were furry. Passersby strolled along the sidewalk, their eyes drawn to the shelter’s big window. Curiously, they would peer in, marveling at the various animals waiting for their forever homes. 350. Kitten Love: a bedtime meditation and story

Narrator: Male Story Begins: 8:36 Kitten Love Excerpt: Sunlight spilled through the drapes right onto Zara the kitten’s bed. The little kitten stretched her paws out as far as she could. She purred, grateful for the warmth of the morning sun. As Zara purred, Dylan the duckling began to coo. Zara smiled and gently licked the fluffy yellow duckling’s head, grooming his feathers. Dylan hopped up and wobbled out of the cozy cat bed. Zara followed the duckling, grooming Dylan as he waddled away. Then the little kitten stopped grooming. Her little pink tongue stuck out of her mouth as she listened intently to sounds coming from the kitchen. Then Zara heard the little girl call, “Zara, breakfast!” Zara gently nudged the duckling, patiently guiding Dylan to the kitchen for breakfast. As the kitten and duckling entered the kitchen the little girl said, “Oh, there you are. You usually come to breakfast right away.” Zara purred as the little girl bent down and scratched her chin. “Here’s your breakfast and here’s some for Dylan.” The duckling waddled over to the dish the little girl had placed on the floor. Dylan sniffed the food and then stuck his beak in, enjoying each bite. Once Zara knew that the duckling approved his breakfast, she set about eating her own. The kitten and duckling cleaned every last drop of food out of their bowls. With tummies satisfied, Zara began to clean her own fur. 348. Batty Dragon: a kids’ guided relaxation and calming story

Dragon notices something zipping across the night sky. The little bat invites Dragon for a snack and our batty dragon zig-zags along. Hello everyone! We hope you enjoyed our new story this week. Narrator: Male Story Begins: 7:50 Batty Dragon Excerpt: A large fluffy cloud drifted across the sky. Hearing the gentle whirr of a toy plane, Dragon’s eyes fluttered open. With a long stretch, Dragon smiled. The fluffy cloud had been the softest place Dragon had ever napped. Dragon gazed down at the island as a warm orange glow filled the sky. The sun was setting. Dragon stretched wings wide and stepped off the cloud, slowly floating to the ground. Once on the ground, Dragon folded wings and walked into a field. In the fading sunlight a dark shape zipped around against the sky. The shape quickly flew one way and then another, zig-zagging across the field. Dragon wondered what it could be. As the sky darkened and Dragon lost track of the zig-zagging shape. Soon the stars and moon sparkled brightly above. Dragon walked along staring up at the twinkling sky with a smile of contentment. Occasionally something covered up a few stars here, a few stars there. Then, as Dragon wondered what was blocking the stars, something zipped right up to Dragon’s nose and hovered in front. Anton Acorn is scared to grow into a tree, but Wilma Willow helps him get comfortable with change. Narrator: Female Story Begins: 4:04 Brave Little Seed Excerpt: It was a beautiful, cozy afternoon by the Ahway Island creek. A gentle breeze rustled through the leaves of the trees. Birds chirped joyfully, flitting from branch to branch, and the sun shined down through the branches overhead, warming the grass and wildflowers on the ground. In an oak tree overlooking the creek, Anton Acorn hung delicately on a branch enjoying the view. Anton clung tightly to his branch, taking in the picturesque view below. However, he soon noticed that his branch was gradually lowering closer to the ground. Anton felt conflicted. On the one hand, he loved being up high and looking out over the creek. But on the other hand, he knew that Oswald, the oak tree he lived in, didn’t appreciate the extra weight of his branches caused by the acorns. Even though he knew that Oswald got annoyed with acorns, Anton didn’t want to leave the tree. He enjoyed the sense of security and comfort that being nestled in the branches of Oswald’s tree provided him. Narrator: Male Story Begins: 8:10 Sky Dragon Excerpt: Dragon’s cave glowed with the soft light of the rising sun. As the sun’s rays grew stronger, Dragon’s eyes fluttered open. Hopping up, Dragon stretched and then gently laid the quilt across the mossy bed. A lovely melody drifted into the cave. Dragon looked towards the opening, squinting into the light. Carrie the Cardinal and Gerry Robin were perched on a branch just outside of Dragon’s home, singing their favorite good morning melody. Dragon smiled and walked out of the cave to join the friendly birds. Bright blue filled the morning sky behind the soft, fluffy clouds floating their way past. Carrie and Gerry chirped even more happily now that their friend was joining them. The two birds flew up into the sky and then turned back to circle Dragon. Dragon understood what the birds wanted. It was a good day for a flight. Dragon lifted off the ground gently to join the two birds, who flitted from tree top to tree top.
