Big week for Barcelona as they battle Bayern & Real Madrid

Julien Laurens, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Pol Ballús and James Horncastle are back with Jimbo to reflect on another busy weekend of European action - and look ahead to matchday three in the Champions League.  In La Liga, Barcelona put five past Sevilla while Real Madrid extended their unbeaten league run to 42 games ahead of a tantalising El Clásico coming up on Saturday night when Los Blancos could equal the record - set by Barca no less! But there’s a stern test for Hansi Flick to navigate in midweek first - with their nemesis and his former side Bayern Munich in town…  Speaking of, Harry Kane was back to scoring ways (after a whole three games without a goal) as he bagged a hat-trick in Bayern’s 4-0 win over Stuttgart to warm up for the trip to Spain in style. There were also Bundesliga wins for Leverkusen and Dortmund - who continue to bewilder with their mixed form under Nuri Sahin as they prepare to face Real Madrid in a rematch of this summer’s Champions League final.  It was a weekend of fine margins over in Italy, with Napoli, Inter, Milan and Juventus all winning 1-0. It’s Antonio Conte’s men who lead the way at the top of the Serie A table - while Roma’s frustrating start under Ivan Juric continues.  And in France, PSG are beginning to purr with Bradley Barcola starring once again in their 4-2 win over Strasbourg - taking full advantage after early leaders Monaco were held to a goalless draw by Lille.  RUNNING ORDER:  • PART 1: Moments of the weekend (0.45) • PART 2: La Liga review - Barcelona & Real Madrid win ahead of big UCL midweek (12.45) • PART 3: Bundesliga review - Bayern put 5 past Sevilla ahead of trip to Spain (25.30) • PART 4: Ligue 1 review - PSG take back top spot after Monaco draw (38.55) • PART 5: Serie A review - 1-0’s across the board for the big boys (49.40) Learn more about your ad choices. Liverpool overcome Chelsea as Arsenal see red again

Jimbo is joined by Duncan Alexander, Daniel Storey and Tim Spiers in the aftermath of a dramatic and significant Premier League weekend. Liverpool pass a major test at Anfield as they beat Chelsea to stay top of the table. Can Slot’s side remain as composed and calm when they head to the Emirates on Sunday? Arsenal themselves are maybe lacking composure as they suffer their first defeat of the season at Bournemouth. Yet another red card for the Gunners - are they playing too close to the edge? It’s a heartbreaking weekend for the teams at the bottom with winless Wolves beaten in stoppage time by Man City, while winless Southampton throw away a 2-0 lead to lose to Leicester. And JJ Bull joins us to discuss one of the best teams in Europe this season, his beloved Aberdeen who look like the real deal as they battle back to draw at Celtic. Produced by Charlie Jones. A bad week for Bayern and PSG, plus penalty saves galore!

Jimbo’s got James Horncastle, Seb Stafford-Bloor, Julien Laurens and Pol Ballús alongside him to recap the latest action from across the continent.  Serie A saw goals AND penalty saves aplenty - with David de Gea snatching the headlines in Fiorentina’s victory over Milan while Marcus Thuram and Mateo Retegui both bagging hat-tricks in big wins for Inter and Torino.  Speaking of hat-tricks, Robert Lewandowski rolled back the years as he scored three of his own as Barcelona cruised to victory against Alaves. They’ve got a three-point advantage over Real Madrid - who are battling injury and personnel issues but won against an impressive Villarreal side. Oh, and Paulo Gazzaniga managed a remarkable feat between the sticks…  In Germany there was late drama at Deutsche Bank Park as Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern Munich drew 3-3, while Bayer Leverkusen let a two-goal lead slip as Holstein Kiel came from behind to earn an unlikely point. PSG’s difficult week continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Nice - leaving Monaco clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table after their 2-1 win at Rennes. Elsewhere Lille backed up their Real Madrid Champions League triumph by beating Toulouse 2-1.  Produced by Lucy Oliva.  RUNNING ORDER:  • PART 1: Moment of the weekend - plus the return of Paul Pogba and tributes to Johan Neeskens (00.35) • PART 2: Serie A review - Lazio the surprise package as McTomadona strikes again (12.40) • PART 3: Bundesliga review - Bayern and Leverkusen drop points as Dortmund struggle (27.10) • PART 4: Ligue 1 review - PSG held as Monaco pull clear at the top and Marseille disappoint (37.05) • PART 5: La Liga review - Lewandowski bags a hat-trick as Real win - but still don’t look right (47.45) Learn more about your ad choices. Brighton comeback stuns Spurs as Liverpool stay top

Jimbo, Daniel Storey, Tim Spiers and Matt Davies-Adams review a Premier League weekend that thrills and bores in equal measure. Spurs throw away a 2-0 lead at Brighton as the Seagulls win 3-2 at the Amex. Why does it have to be all or nothing with Ange Postecoglou’s style of play? Liverpool stay top of the table with their victory at winless Palace. Why has the transition been so smooth under Arne Slot?  Man City and Arsenal survive scares to win again, with Saka and Havertz in especially spectacular form right now. Wolves stay bottom after their 5-3 defeat at Brentford as the fans turn on the manager and the owners. Plus Traore v Werner and why won’t Leicester fans cut Cooper some slack? Produced by Charlie Jones. RUNNING ORDER:  • PART 1a: Brighton 3-2 Tottenham with Andy Naylor (06.30) • PART 1b: Chelsea 1-1 Forest & Villa 0-0 Man Utd (17.30) • PART 2a: Crystal Palace 0-1 Liverpool (28.00)  • PART 2b: Arsenal and City come from behind to win (35.00) • PART 3a: Brentford 5-3 Wolves (45.00) • PART 3b: The rest of the Premier League weekend (56.00) Learn more about your ad choices.
