Trump Picks Matt Gaetz for Attorney General and Gaetz Promptly Resigns From Congress

In a move that caused an eruption of REPUBLICAN in-fighting, Donald Trump named Matt Gaetz as his pick for Attorney General of the United State of America. Politicians, left, right and center, promptly spoke out in recognition of one unassailable truth - Gaetz is not qualified to be AG. So what's really going on here? Well, the House Ethics Committee was preparing to release an ethics investigation into Gaetz this Friday. Will Trump Finally Be Sentenced On His 34 New York Felony Convictions?

Ever since a New York jury found Donald Trump guilty of 34 felony crimes involving falsifying business records to cheat in the 2016 presidential election, we've been waiting for the case to proceed to sentencing. We were expecting a ruling from the presiding judge, Juan Merchan, on November 12th on Trump's motion to dismiss based on the Supreme Court's presidential immunity ruling. But Judge Merchan just pushed the deadline from November 12th to November 19th, with Trump's sentencing date still being set for November 26th. Judge Threatens Rudy Giuliani With CONTEMPT For Defying Court Order In Defamation Case

Rudy Giuliani has been playing games in his attempt to avoid turning over his assets and property to the two Georgia state election workers, Shaye Moss and Ruby Freeman, a jury said he defamed, and ordered him to pay $146 million in damages. The federal judge overseeing enforcement of the money judgement, Judge Lewis Liman, has told Giuliani and his lawyers that their arguments as to why Giuliani has failed to comply with the court's order to give over his assets are "farcical." Judge Liman told Giuliani to give over the assets or be held in contempt of court. Judge Aileen Cannon Refuses to Step Off Trump-Related Case of Ryan Routh

Judge Aileen Cannon's favoritism and bias in favor of Donald Trump is well-established. And the law provides that even the appearance of bias and favoritism (no actual bias/favoritism is necessary) warrants the removal of a judge from presiding over a case. The defendant charged with plotting a Trump assassination, Ryan Routh, filed a motion to have Cannon recuse herself from his case given that Trump is the victim. In a typically unpersuasive ruling, Cannon refused to leave the case, making it clear that Cannon just can't quit Trump or Trump-related cases. Judge Smacks Down DeSantis For Violating Pro-Choice Free Speech

After Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his Republican legislators banned abortion in Florida after 6 weeks (at which point most women may not even know they're pregnant), 900,000 Floridians signed a petition to get abortion rights on the ballot as a constitutional amendment, designated as Amendment 4. A pro-choice group called Floridians Protecting Freedom created a TV ad supporting Amendment 4. The commercial plainly and inarguably constituted political speech protected by the First Amendment. Nevertheless, DeSantis and his henchmen issued cease and desist letters to 50 TV stations, threatening them with prosecution if they aired the pro-Amendment 4 commercial. Floridians Protecting Freedom filed suit in federal court seeking a restraining order prohibiting the state of Florida from violating their free speech rights. A federal judge granted the request for a restraining order, pointedly informing DeSantis of the following in his written ruling - " Too keep it simple for the State of Florida: it's the First Amendment, stupid."
