He almost always wore the red shirt when working home plate, including Game 3 of the 1998 World Series at [Qualcomm Stadium] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qualcomm_Stadium) . Scott worked his last game on April 14, 2017, in Toronto. After consulting with several sports medicine and concussion specialists, Scott decided not to return, and announced his retirement in December 2017. [[5]] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dale_Scott#cite_note-5) On July 1, 1990, Scott was the home plate umpire as [Andy Hawkins] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Hawkins) of the [New York Yankees] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Yankees) pitched eight hitless innings in a road game against the [Chicago White Sox] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_White_Sox) , yet lost; it was, at the time, only the second game in history in which a pitcher lost a complete game [no-hitter] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No-hitter) . In 1991 MLB revised the rules relating to official no-hit games, requiring that a pitcher must complete a minimum of 9 innings, and thereby voiding Hawkins’ effort. He was the home plate umpire on April 27, 1994, when Scott Erickson threw a no-hitter for the Twins vs the Brewers. [[7]] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dale_Scott#cite_note-7) Scott worked his 3,000th career, regular season MLB game in St. Louis on his 50th birthday, August 14, 2009. Kinetic Arm highlighted at the ABCA convention in 2022 as the most innovative product. This episode is over an hour because of the importance. A youth device is being developed and can change players long term health and development. Players at the high school, college and pro level are already using them. Use in practice. Use in games. Hitters can use them because there is stress on the joints when you swing a bat, adds to throwing and pitching stress. Off loads stress up to 30%. Stabilizes arm while in motion. [[1]] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hensley_Meulens#cite_note-1) Hitting home runs left-handed while playing softball as a teenager earned Meulens the nickname “Bam Bam” when his friends compared his power to the [Flintstones] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flintstones) cartoon character. [[2]] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hensley_Meulens#cite_note-2) Playing career -------------- Early career (1985–1993) Hensley Meulens was signed by the Yankees as an undrafted free agent in 1985. Quote of the Week “Be careful what you cause, ’cause you’ll be the cause of most of what happens to you in life.” Winning The “Head” Game Key to Elite Athletic Status by Coach Sonny Smith and Lou Vickery Get your autographed copy! Athletics start with the body, but ultimately, it is the nature of the mind that speaks to the level of achievement an athlete experiences in sports. WINNING THE “HEAD” GAME is a mixture of motivational, inspirational and informative works that primarily apply to the “what” and “why,” instead of the “how,” of sports. Coach Sonny Smith (former college coach of NBA Hall of Fame player, Charles Barkley) and a member of eight Hall of Fames, along with Lou Vickery, former professional baseball player, have drawn upon their sixty-plus years of involvement in sports, both at the amateur and professional level in the writing of WINNING THE “HEAD” GAME. Their mission is to provide the necessary ingredients to help athletes and coaches build a bridge from where they are to where they would like to go in athletics. The book is uniquely designed. It includes five parts. Part One: Sonny on Sonny is an autobiographical sketch by Sonny about himself. This affords the reader a chance to get up close and personal with a side of Sonny that very few people have been exposed to, or were aware existed. Sonny and Lou didn’t write WINNING THE “HEAD” GAME for athletes based on their present athletic status and boundaries. Parts 2 through 5 highlight topics like winning personal traits, goals, attitude, team core values, preparation hanging tough, emotional control, learning from both winning and losing, and other topics bound to jump start an athlete at any level of play. The text is written for those who see themselves as “a work in progress,” who are looking to expand unseen abilities and possibilities, moving potential to reality. Your Host Peter Caliendo [www.baseballoutsidethebox.com] (http://www.baseballoutsidethebox.com) Email [Caliendo19@gmail.com] (mailto:Caliendo19@gmail.com) ESPN Honolulu You Tube at Peter Caliendo Face Book at Peter Caliendo Twitter @baseballout and @petercaliendo [![image] (https://insidepitchpodcast.ignotainment.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/13/2021/05/Podcast-Logo-regular-one-300x300.jpg)] (https://insidepitchpodcast.ignotainment.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/13/2021/05/Podcast-Logo-regular-one.jpg) The post [Former MLB Pitcher Lou Vickery’s new book WINNING THE “HEAD” GAME…KEY TO ELITE ATHLETIC STATUS.
