The question he came out with was not, "How do I rebuild?" It was how do I matter. And 17 years later, that question has put Tom Eddington in Washington, DC, in the middle of what many consider the darkest political moment in modern American history, helping reconvene the State of the World Forum, the initiative co-founded in 1995 by Mikhail Gorbachev, Senator Alan Cranston, and Secretary of State George Shultz to address the future of human civilization.
In this episode, Dov sits down with Tom, the current vice president of the reconvened forum, to talk about the six-year commitment underneath it. Not the recovery story. The commitment. Tom tells Dov what happened after he traveled to Colombia to sit with the Tairona elders and heard that 2025 to 2030 is the most consequential window in human history. 
 Then he flew to Bhutan and met with the national astrologer and the head of the monastic body, both of whom, working from a lineage 2,000 years old and completely independent of the Colombians, told him the same thing.
