She also was named the <a href="https://www.libraryjournal.com/story/librarianoftheyear/speaking-up-lisa-varga-is-ljs-2024-librarian-of-the-year">LIBRARIAN OF THE YEAR 2024 </a>by Library Journal, an award she won because of her advocacy in the fight against book bans.
