Lightning Lanes at Walt Disney World can feel like a foreign language, so this week Lisa, Caitlin, Sharpie and Steve break it all down. We cover how Lightning Lane Multi Pass works: when you can book (7 days out for Disney resort guests, 3 days for everyone else), how Tier 1 and Tier 2 picks work, the “two-hour rule,” and how to keep booking once you’re in the park. We explain why the biggest rides, like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Rise of the Resistance, Flight of Passage, TRON and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, are sold separately as Single Pass. We also look at what the $249-per-person Premier Pass gets you.

We crunch the projected New Year’s Eve prices for a family of four, share our top Lightning Lane picks for each park, and debate the age-old question: pay for your time or wait in line? Plus, how many guests actually buy Lightning Lane, money-saving alternatives like Early Entry, Extended Evening Hours and Single Rider lines, and a fun detour into Disney coffee history. Do you know where Joffrey’s got its start?
