Destiny players made their voices heard — and Bungie is listening. This week on The Trophy Room, we break down Bungie’s surprising commitment to the future of Destiny, including plans to bring vaulted Destiny 2 campaigns, destinations, and raids back to the game. After the massive fan response to Bungie’s previous plans for Destiny 2, the studio says the community made a real impact and insists: “We are not done with Destiny.” Meanwhile, Xbox is going through another massive restructuring. Microsoft has confirmed 268 additional job losses across Xbox, while Activision will now develop the next Halo game with a new purpose-built team. We discuss what this means for the future of Halo, Halo Studios, and Xbox as studios including Rare, Obsidian, World’s Edge, Playground Games, and Turn 10 undergo major organizational changes. Plus, we share our impressions of CONTROL Resonant, discuss PlayStation’s mysterious new PS Store wallet-credit rewards program, and react to reports that Media Molecule’s next game could be a new social-simulation experience inspired by Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon.
