Cyndi Overton takes over True Crime Time For with a story she intended to cover quickly—but couldn't. On September 28, 1953, six-year-old Robert “Bobby” Greenlease Jr. was taken from his Kansas City school by a woman claiming his mother had suffered a heart attack. Bonnie Heady and Carl Hall demanded $600,000 for Bobby's return, even though they had already killed him. The FBI investigation ended with Bobby's body recovered, Hall and Heady executed less than three months later, and more than half of the ransom money never recovered. Pasted text The FBI's records confirm the names and major details of Cyndi's account. FBIThen it's Family Matters. In Arizona, Gary Crawford receives life plus 21 years for murdering his 91-year-old stepfather and attempting to murder his mother. In Missouri, Mariah Thomas is sentenced to 13 years after pleading guilty to child endangerment resulting in the death of her one-month-old daughter, whom she told investigators she accidentally placed in an oven instead of a crib.
