She knew where to place her hands, and she was starting to understand the rhythms and shapes of notes on her worksheets. Lydia was very curious about what she would learn at today’s lesson.</p>
<p>“Today, we’re going to learn about scales,” said Miss Bonnie. “A scale is like a little musical staircase. We start at the bottom, and we go up step by step until we reach the top, and then we come back down the same way. If you play all the white notes, from C to C, that is a scale. Try it with your pointer finger first!”</p></blockquote>
