Mark Carney’s plan. As stated in his tariff policy, the prime minister will take income from the Canadian side of the tariff equation (countervailing duties) to subsidize the impacted export sector. Just like China and the EU did in ’17, ’18 and ’19, the Canadian government plans to offset the difference to the U.S. consumer by subsidizing the exporter with import tariff income. All of this is done to retain access to USA consumers.
The final outcome, the U.S. purchaser is back to the original price of $70, only now that same outcome is evident with an invisible $50 tariff.
This is what China tried to do. This is what the EU tried to do. This is what Canada is now planning to do to retain access to the U.S. market while they look for alternatives.

How Tariffs Will Lower The Cost Of Living

Critics of President Trump’s trade policy – tariffs, tariffs, and more tariffs – cry that tariffs will cause inflation and make Americans poor. This is false.

Although there will be a brief period where the market adjusts to the new normal, tariffs will not cause inflation. In fact, tariffs will lower the cost of living in the long run.
Perhaps the more interesting question to ask is: inflation of what? Consumer goods? Why are these critics not concerned about the inflation of assets like houses or investments that are caused by economic globalism and the trade deficit? Why are the Democrats and Neocons so preoccupied with keeping the cost of disposable products low, when people cannot afford their rent or mortgages?

Fiddling with the grasshoppers

Contrary to popular belief, tariffs did not raise the cost of goods during President Trump’s first term, and they are not likely to do so the second time around.
There are a few reasons for this.
First, a tariff is a tax imposed on imports. For example, a 25% tariff on steel would increase the price of steel coming from Canada or South Korea. However, that same tariff would not apply to steel that was made in America. In this way, tariffs are a completely avoidable tax. If you do not want to pay tariffs, buy American. Simple.
Not only do tariffs create an incentive for consumers to buy American, but they also create an incentive for foreign producers to lower their costs. If countries like China or Mexico want access to America’s market—which they certainly will—then they will have to find a way to reduce their costs to balance out the tariff. Ultimately, lower production costs will benefit everyone.
The media laments that tariffs will increase the price of consumer goods. However, they appear blissfully unaware that the current trade paradigm—massive, chronic trade deficits driven by unfair and asymmetrical trade with the rest of the world—also causes inflation of a different kind.

DOGE Deposes US Institute Of Peace Leadership After Failing To Institute Peace

Officials at the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) called police Monday in a failed effort to block personnel from Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from entering their Washington headquarters.

If we pulled together all those fragmented datasets, and constructed a truly accurate Social Security database – one SSN per person – not only would the federal government be greatly reduced in power, we would also be able to document exactly who and where all the illegal aliens are.
That’s right – we already have all the information required to deport illegal immigrants in our system, we just don’t want to look at it. As it stands, the current system relies on the ground truth being scattered in fragmented pieces throughout the federal government. Trump removes gun violence public health advisory

The advisory was issued by a Biden-nominated surgeon general last year.

The Department of Health and Human Services recently removed a former surgeon general’s warning declaring gun violence a public health crisis to comply with the president’s executive order to protect Second Amendment rights, according to a White House official.

The executive order, which Trump signed last month, directed the federal government to halt existing policies the Trump administration deemed to be in violation of the constitutional right to bear arms. Maine Department of Education, Maine Principals’ Association and Greely High School have 10 days to “voluntarily commit” to a resolution or “risk referral” to the Justice Department, HHS says. The Department of Health and Human Services determined the Maine Department of Education, Maine Principals’ Association and Greely High School each violated Title IX by letting males play in girls’ sports on the basis of gender identity, HHS said Monday.

The investigations are less than a month old, prompted in part by the MPA flatly refusing to follow President Trump’s gender identity and sports executive order and Trump’s heated exchange with Democratic Gov. Janet Mills on whether Maine will comply.
HHS’s Office for Civil Rights said it sent each entity a determination letter that “offers them an opportunity to voluntarily commit within 10 days to resolve the matter through a signed agreement or risk referral to the U.S. Department of Justice for appropriate action.” It did not post the letters.
